What the stuff!!
Instead people just attend the meeting and see what has to be said and what has been planned for the hobby, before we go and have yet another to and throe, the whole point of the thread was to ask question to be directed to Natcon!

The whole point is The ANC is up to shit, but yet we still live our lives, the petrol price has sky rocketed, yet we still drive our cars, the strikers that demand more money and hold the country by the balls, get what they want, power in numbers, We have the opportunity to stand together for the first time in the history of the hobby, which has not happened to this date just fighting and cring.

Take a look at the hobby of Keeping reptiles, they apply for permits and get them, they import snakes, have a working relationship with Natcon and any other nature conservation out there, they get stuff right, They a group that stands together. Like the guy who got import permit and permits for poison dart frogs.

But we just bitch and moan and fight on the site because we can’t keep our tarantulas and we do not know what the laws are! And Natcon is not doing their job and so on and so forth!! We don’t know what has been going on in the anteroom.
We have lost some members who have been in the hobby for years and years, who have had plenty knowledge due to fighting.

We have a chance to change that for the better, if we stand together and talk things out and hear what Natcon has to say, and from there we can fight or accepted what is going to happen.

Our hobby will either be crushed and shutdown or given the green light with some do and don't.

Oh well.

Thanks for clearing that up Don, you got me all worried there for a moment. My mother tongue happens to be "Boer", yet sadly I did not grow up on a farm. One could possibly be forgiven for misunderstanding the word in this context, purely because there are so many derogatory terms floating about as you undoubtedly are aware of...

While everyone is locked, and geared to make a difference, there are people b*tching and moaning about it.

We've lost those members as result of the ignorant ones that feeds on the bottom. There's food for thought...

Are we willing to have these guys that's at the speartip of this initiative also adapt a screw you attitude?

I am in the process of obtaining some permits for new reptiles I have in mind. Also for catch and release, as on our farm I come across puffies and rinkhals all the time, and I would rather relocate them than have the locals kill these creatures. With that said, and being a member of the WRHA, I've had the pleasure to meet with some of the guys, and they've been a great help to me. They've also said, that from the tarantula trade, no one has breached the divide.

Yet - That is. That's why we need to start the process on saturday.

This way, it might even open up a recourse for those in the western cape. Then they can also feel that they keep their tarantulas legally, and don't have to k@k-en-kerm because we have some liberty to keep them here, and there it's outlawed...

Exactly, we have the opportunity to breach the divide now, so lets try do this as a group of tarantula lovers, breeders and keepers and see where the second step will take us.
Or I'll have to move over to snakes and lizzards! just take up more space :lol:
