Maybe we should wait for Stan to log on and he can respond to your post above. :)

Edit: Don't think you realise that this is some guy in America and probably written years ago. ;)
Sure the conversation was just put up to show how naive some people are when they refuse to use scientific names. :)

You don't have to be a lawyer or a philosopher to learn a few scientific names. You needn't understand what the scientific names mean, and the ability to pronounce them correctly isn't all that important either. It's just a means of avoiding ambiguity.

@lasiodora

look, i know we're all having a laugh at this poor guy's expense, but then again...he agreed to have this published.

its quite simple, if you're into this hobby (whether you have one T or hundreds) the latin names are needed to create and adhere to an international STANDARD, plain and simple.
Without this it'll get quite confusing - imagine ordering T's by common name only - Mexican red leg/flame leg/flame knee/red knee etc etc etc. to name but a few, ask for a Red Rump Tarantula, and then hope you get the one you were actually looking for...

He didn't agree, he pretty much *demanded* it be published. Therefore, he deserved to be admonished for his idiocy. :evil:
