LOL... Now that was funny.
When I started collecting T's I learned the scientific names before I learned the common name. Heck I still have problems with the common name. For me when someone posts a common name I have to Google it to see what the hell they are talking about. I even had to ask on the forum what type of T a USB (common name) was.
On a similar note most of us here have learned the scientific name through reading it here on the forums or books however we have never heard the spoken language of Latin. So when you have a T get together or visit a seller or go to the T auction where the spoken Latin name is herd somehow it sounds different to how you may have read in and said it aloud to yourself. Kind of like hearing English - UK English, Scottish English, American English, South African English, India English, Irish English and so on..... The language is the same it's how one pronounces the Latin name.
