This is what your acrylic enclosure could've looked like I'm still struggling to source acrylic hasps. Once done my entire collection will be on some of these.. Its clearer than glass, it doesn't have that green tinge to it, it retains heat better and is easier to machine! oja if the perspex scratches, use a blow torch to it if you aren't keen on polishing...

I asked the information person at the builders close to me if he had vent caps and all I got was "Eish!"

The Cupboard section is where you will find vents, they should stock about 4 different kinds at builders.
Where they have all the handles and stuff like that for cupboards.

Tho polishing with blow torch is not as easy as it sounds... you will always end up with milky parts.
Besides your joins getting weaker every time you heat the box and welding your hinges solid

So after asking about 4 people at builders boksburg for these things I finally found someone who knew what they where and after searching for them for about 15 minutes himself he concluded that there was no stock. :dry:

The guy ad builders edenvale knew exactly what I was looking for (his guess was that it was for a snake tank ) but again no stock could be found. He phoned builders express at greenstone and.. no stock.

There is one more place I am actually sure will have what I want (and more), its a little shop next to the big 4x4 accessories place is across the road from builders edenvale. I think its called Gelmar. I'm sure they will have. I will go there on monday morning to see.

Do you guys use silicone? Or epoxy?

I would like to get one of those uv kits, but Builders knows nothing about that :rolleyes:

Hey there. What I do with the glass enclosures, I glue the glass with gaps between the glass panes. Then I use aluminum strips with holes drilled in it to create a vent and I used silicone to glue it to the glass. Here's an example :
