Thats a nice idea.

I have been thinking about just cutting a circle in the glass and then hot gluing mosquito mesh over the hole.
Then I was thinking about covering the edges with some kind of massive washer or something. I have a cnc router so I would just cut them out of aluminium.

Maybe I can adapt that to something like yours, tho on the smaller enclosures the aluminium beading around the edges would make it difficult to see inside.

Edit:
Instead of just making the rings out of alu, I think I could make the whole vent cap.. How small would the holes need to be? Would 2mm be acceptable? Or would I need to go to 1mm?

The only reason for the aluminum beading is an enclosure I had to build for my friend. He wanted the whole enclosuren to be edged with the aluminum edging. The corners were done with aluminum angles.

I had that 15x15x15cm perspex encloure with hinges and hasp and staple for around 150 I think and a few weeks on and the lid is warping and ive got a curly in there... so yeah wth

First of three 4mm glass 500x274x274 enclosures done. Now just to leave it to dry. Next week, plexiglass.....

Warping? :blink: Thats weird it shouldn't do that. Can you post a pic?

ye the 2 corners on the opening side of the lid are starting to bend up and it doesnt sit flush anymore... ill try get a pic in a few minutes... battery is charging...
