I know you guys use Plexiglas and Perspex to make enclosures!
Have you ever heard of Acrilan? It is made by a company called Ampa Plastics.
It is as good as Perspex and Plexiglas but much cheaper.

Do you know what they charge per square meter?

well they don't sell it by square meter, you have to buy a sheet but if you ask them if they have off-cuts they will cut that down for you.
the price on a 5mm x 2050mm x 2500mm is R2000.00. I don't know the price of the thinner sheets as I use the 5mm for the doors of my reptile cages.

Thats around R333.33 ( I cant remember if that was x vat, if so it would be R380psm) per square meter. I was using Plexiglas 5mm and that was costing me R550psm.

I bought off-cuts from Maizeys in Pretoria.
It was around R1800 exc. VAT for a similar sized sheet when I last asked (2010).
Off-cuts were R85/kg if memory serves.

I bought form Maizeys last month and it was R550psm!!!! the size was 108mm x 300mm x 5mm R220.....

Last time I was there, they said that they sell the sheet but you don't pay per cut. So you can cut the sheet into however many pieces you want. Just need to supply the details.
Was it still like that?
