Read the highlighted line on the first attachment (Page 16 of the bill). The same as the original post by Ceratogyrus.

Then read the highlighted sentence on the second attachment (Page 8 of the SAME bill).

“pet species” refers to alien species listed in Schedule 3 and for which permits are not required for keeping and transporting;

Do you see the confusion now? When they talk about pet species in the description, they refer to the keeping and transporting. They failed to mention selling, breeding, etc.

Intentional or unintentional, you never know.

I think I understand it now, our tarantulas are listed as pet species so we are allowed to keep them, breed them, trade in them.
We may not import them or transport them over boarders with out a permit?

Well that is how it is know any way.
You not allowed to transport any exotic pet over boarders as it is now.

But is there a clear list of what T's fall under the pet classification? Locals are obviously excluded from that list but what other T's that we are keeping might also be excluded from that list?

I think this legislation is a bit unclear and does worry me a bit. I agree T's are safe for now but that doc looks pretty open ended to me and open to interpretation.

Rememer that there are the few of us that keeps snakes, lizzards and monitors as well...

This becomes all relevant, and it won't be long should these bastards succeed, that they would come after the tarantula hobby too...
