66. No person may without a permit import into, or convey in or through, the Province, any alien invertebrate for entomology, commercial or collection purposes.
So this means no meal worms, super worms, roaches, mantids or stick insects. The penalty is Offences and Penalties, 71. (1) Any person who contravenes or fails to comply with provisions of this Chapter is liable on conviction in case of an offence referred to in section 64, 66 or 67 to a fine or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 10 years or to both a fine and such imprisonment.

Direct translation of the proposed bill:

“pet species” refers to alien species listed in Schedule 3 and for which permits are not required for keeping and transporting;

So you don't need a permit for keeping and transporting.

Yes, I've read it.

But if you go to the description of pet species in the proposed bill, it only excludes keeping & transporting from needing a permit.

My point is: the proposed legislation seems a bit fuzzy still. Hopefully they'll clarify it after some public input.
