See, I'm quite sceptical when it comes to stuff like this. Research produces facts, but the interpretation and communication of the results of research, now that is completely biased and relative. You will (most probably) interpret information differently than me because of our backgrounds (which I'm assuming differ - based purely on guessing )

They say you need a permit for all indigenous genera.
so if you breed 2 different Ceratogyrus species together you will need permits for the 2 species and a breeding permit.

Also, what most people fail to understand that in the millions of years that Tarantulas have been around, there have undoubtly been hybridization in abundance. Just think, perhaps all the T's we keep today are hybrids between now extinct Tarantula species. Also what most people don't know is that Pokies also Hybridize in Nature so our precious "pure" pokies might in fact also be hybrids. I highly doubt there is any "pure" animal left in the world today.

A friend and myself were discussing... and yes I will be mating one P metallica male with my P fasciata egg machine. The reason for this male/female choice is simply, P fasciata drops eggs easily while P metallica does not. A few practical issues to consider. P fasciata females would not cohabitate with males to my knowledge, so the male would have to be "rescued". P fasciata does not need a special "tube" to drop a sac. P fasciata handles temperatures of up to 34 degrees and drops when flooded, P metallica does not want flooding. All these considerations make P fasciata female a better choice than a P metallica female.

If I had a P murinus mature male, I would consider him with any one of the M balfouri females. Problem is, the ones not on egg cases are with child. It could be considered a risk to try an M balfouri male with P murinus female because P murinus females are notoriously full of crap.

The purists and genealogists might soil themselves, but this is a MUST try for me. It must be clear that any (possible) offspring will be culled to manageable numbers and the results published by me for public scrutiny.
When this is done in secret for personal gain, it is wrong. When such offspring are sold under false pretenses, it is wrong. I have walked the walk, I find the prospects of such an experiment challenging and fascinating.

I'm all for it I think its awesome, but I do have my concerns being wont this in the long run destroy the "pure" breed spiders cos now every tom, dick and harry will be cross breeding and eventually people will sell hybrids as pure and then people who think they are pure mate with there pure spider and then the ball begins to roll and eventually every spider is a hybrid.
