A female can breed more than once a year. She just needs to moult after laying eggs and mate again to produce a viable second eggcase.
I don't personally use a mechanical mom. It is useful if you pull the eggcase before 10 days after laying, but otherwise a hammock does just fine.

I've heard a lot said about the need to vary the temp in order to simulate day/night and seasonal changes. The ambient temperature in the room I keep my T's is normally between 25 - 30 degrees with not too much of a drop at night. Would the fairly stable temperature pose a problem?
