Well I work at a pet store so my freinds at the store just said I must bring it in and I can rehouse it there incase something goes wrong I have other people to help

Glad to see people are realising that "Stan" is visiting us...

I just want to mention my little Tarantula Trap here, it's the little device I use to re-house my 4.5 Inch H.Maculata, which also has a nifty venom.

PARTS:
1 x Toilet roll core (more if you need) or the bigger rolls if you have an enourmous P.Regalis or something like that.
2 x lids off a Douglasdale 2L milk bottle, or other lid that fits tightly into the toilet roll core. (Again get more if you need to make more traps.) I like the milk bottle lids because they have nice ridges that fit exactly onto the roll.

REMEMBER TO MARK THE TOILET ROLL CORES WITH "IN" on the one side & "OUT" on the other side.

Now, I plug the "OUT" side of the toilet roll core with one of the lids, and using forceps, I place it with the open "IN" side at the entrance of the T's hide. If it has more than one exit, put one trap at each exit.

I now nudge the T from behind with a long soft paintbrush, and she automatically darts for the exit, and heads for the darkness inside the trap. Once she's in, I use the forceps again to place the 2nd lid on the open side of the trap so she can't back up or get out, and only then do I secure the trap with my hand and push the lid in tightly.

Vwalla! Nice and snug in a safe dark environment. I then put her on the shelf until I am done with the new enclosure, and when it's time to come out, i just place the trap inside the enclosure and genlty but quickly remove the "in" side of the trap. During the night she makes her way out on her own.

For the brave / aka me / aka stupid, you can remove the front lid as well, but if your T makes a run for it, you better be quicker than it is...



This will not work for all T's, but it does for a very good few of them.

RESULTS:

Well it was a huge success and believe it or not but it was my easiest and most pleasing rehouse I have done before

All i did was something close to what HeteroScuderia was talking about but I used something called a siphon which is a long tube used for cleaning fish tanks. I coaxed him into the tube and then just put the tube in the new big tank, blew from the other side and he ran into his new big home. And straight away he started to drink from his water gel, I feel much better now that he is in a good home and a good sized tank.

I don't know about the rest of the peeps on this forum, but I am not a fan of those water Gel balls for T's, they fine for crickets, but for T's they can cause a lot of hassles and host pests/bacteria. Rather just use a nice large shallow water bowl with a clean rock in it so that both the T and any food you give it can climb out should they fall in.

Just my advice.

+1 to HeteroScuderia on the water gel. I have never seen water gel balls in the bush from which animals 'drink'. Super unnatural and a breeding ground for bacteria.
