Oddly enough, I've never been on a Atheist forum before. Hey, I understand where you're coming from. I didn't take it as a personal attack or anything. Oddly enough, I was a Christian until about grade 3 were everything went down hill from there.

The problem is that christians are quick to force their opinion on to you so obviously you try to give them a bit of logic. Seeing as the bible is open to interpretation I'll just stick too my own idea -something that almost sounds like what Brachy said. A million years is but a day.

I believe in the beginning God created the heeavens and the earth.
The earth is about 6000 odd years old.
God created everyting perfect, but we, (Adam & Eve) not like any of us would have done better, betraid God and thus brought sin into this world.
About 4000+ years ago a great flood happened.
And a little more than 2000 years ago Gods own son died on a cross for all of mankinds sins.

Does it say anything in the bible about when the garden was created or did you simply think it happened after the seventh day cause the content starts later? In short does an all knowing God rest just before kicking Adam & Eve out or is the garden created while we are on the sixth day?

Where in the Bible does it say 6000 years? Sorry if it looks like I'm questioning the Bible.

Where did the apple come from as well? From what I know, The Garden of Eden would've been located in the middle east somewhere yes? They didn't have apples when the bible was concocted.

If you read the bible you will see just how they try to get around the time scales near the start with so and so lived so many hundred years and had so many sons who lived X amount of time and bore so many sons and they lived etc etc.

I question the bible and religion entirely. These people keep telling me it is real but there is nothing tangible about it, they even have their own branch of science now that tries so very hard to disprove what other scientists have been finding hard evidence for over 3 centuries. Creationist theory is a sham, evolution is a reality. I have read the bible, it was a good read but clearly just a set anecdotes and stories rather than anything that should be taken seriously in this modern age. To still be fighting over something so base and still debating whether or not it was creation or evolution is patently silly and a complete waste of energy in my opinion.

I am a complete none believer and also a total nihilist. I think region has been the biggest thorn in our side for centuries and will continue to be so as long as it is allowed to thrive. I'm just glad in My country the church has very little say on important matters now and the real decision making isn't swayed by religious groups and fanatics. Apart from catholics most religions and their offshoots can't even agree as to who is even right in their own religions. For instance, Judaism gave birth to the monotheistic religions and we now have sunni and shia muslims, protestants and their many branches and the above mentioned catholics and they all believe in the same god, very odd. Buddhism has various sects that have waged war against each other on and off for centuries (I can't speak for seihkism(sp)? as I haven't really looked at that) so on the face of it, if the people who believe in this nonsense can't agree on their own religion then how can they expect people not to argue against it?

God created us all. Chicken or Egg - Simple, God made everything complete.

To the non believers etc, I could fill this page with testimonials about what God has done in my life and how he has used me to help others. You cannot explain it, but it is so fullfilling and amazing. I truly pray for all of you reading this or posting in this thread that God touches your hearts and opens your eyes to him. When you stand with God, nothing stands against you.
