wow. this topic has really developed. I like the idea, though I'm usually against bureaucracy .Can the people in the this hobby actually work together and pull off something as big as this, not just in teory when people put on their ''friendly forum faces'' but in practice when they are amongst themselves, away from the forum. this hobby definatly has a bitchy underbelly.
However the newbies will definatly benifit from it, but again not everybody in the hobby is on this forum... further how does it stop people from breeding the bejeesus out of species, only to notice that they can't sell the slings? I've heard some scary stuff from ''breeders''...
-"my parahybana female is huge bro,i'm going to mate her, I might have to sell them for R2 each, but if i get a 1200 sac, thats R2400 i didn't have''
or
-'' I cant seem to sell my 500 curlies, so I'll just label them as schroederi or emilia to get them to sell quick''
If only there was a way to make a person have to get approval, from other keepers (experienced hobbiest etc) prior to breeding the species. Like suggested on another topic (Think it was T-rad), a list should be compiled of species not to be bred (curlies, klugi's, incei's etc), and a person who then chooses to breed an one of these species to be named publically, as to ensure that this practice of over breeding gets boicotted.
