live plants or artificial plants was created by Slangman
Live plants make an excellent addition to an enclosure of arboreal species - they not only make attractive enhancements to the enclosure but also provide some moisture and humidity - what do you think?

Hardy shade loving plant species work best like the Sanseveria species - hardy bromeliads and air plants , Pothos Ivy, English Ivy are among others.

Artificial Plants:
Plastic or Silk artificial plants make a nice alternative in the spiders enclosure.
They add some colour and shelter for breeding and egg sack production.
Also, webbing and trampling do not adversely effect their health.

What are your personal choices as tarantula breeders regarding plants?

Always live never plastic. Those who know me will find this repetitive, but Hen-and-Chicks is all I use, no waterbowls, except with gravid females.

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

Scarab, you don't use water bowls at all? (Except Gravid Fems)

What is a typical set-up you would use?

Tx

With Scarab on this.
I only use Hen-and-Chicks in all my enclosures.

He just adds the Hen-and-Chicks and the plant does the rest, all he waters is the plant, not the rest of the cage. Some have T shelters, others a type of bark or wood. But I must say, the plants in his cages work very well. All natural..... lol ;)

Go Scarab... We also bought some to put in our T cages. Thank you for the great advice... :) :silly: :)
