This forum already is a club in my view. With the Auction (if all goes well) as its gathering.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again.

I agree Swipe.

But what about the members of the forum that live in PE and Durban and Gat-sonder-water? They can't always attend gatherings like the auction. Even members staying in Alberton might not be able to attend all the gatherings held in Pretoria, so a local 'club' might be a better option and will be closer to home.

These clubs are not supposed to be competing for membership with each other or to take away THIS forum's members.

ok suppose we manage to create individual clubs in diff suburbs who will take take responsibility in these clubs , it has to be someone with enough time and knowledge to lead the people.

Well, I've already started looking for a few potential tarantula lovers here in the North Coast (Zululand), unfortunately I haven't found any yet. So PLEASE keep thumbs!!

(I'm advertising in the local paper and posting things up at the shops at the moment.)

Any more suggestions??

I think the whole club idea is great since I live in MP (Barberton, wich luckily is close to Nelspruit) and PTA is FAR. So meeting ppl closer to home would be great. I also think it would be a very good thing for the hobby as a whole, since intrested ppl could learn more about the hobby.
I also think that having clubs could assist in our local species being protected since the members would be better informed through talks ect.

Basicaly the possibilties are endless...
