I haven't been a member of this forum for that long and what I know about tarantulas is limited especially when compared to most members but this is the ONLY forum that I am a part of and the reason is simple:

The first problem I had was identifiying a tarantula that we had because I didn't know what it was, and so the hunt began and frustration drove me through the roof! I eventually took a long shot and asked this forum for help - within a matter of moment I knew what type of tarantula it was. Every time I need help I don't feel like a poepol asking for it because everyone here is so helpful and nobody treats me like an idiot for not knowing.

I love this forum and I appreciate the help that everyone always offers, you are all (except those who join to boycot) wonderful people who make being a tarantula keeper allot more fun

Yet another 5 pager that has nothing to do with our T's.

My opinion is that this site is definately in need of being rescued. Taki, you will not agree because you have not been around for months and have no idea of what is going on here. You have neglected the site and in turn indirectly caused alot of the bigger players in the hobby to leave. The guys got tired of all the nonsense on the forum and alot feel the same as Cerat.

As for Scarab, he has been the glue holding this forum together for the last few months. I would suggest you hand over the reins to him until you are ready to come back. Let him run and manage the site as he see's fit as he has by far proved he is more than capable of doing so and fair in all his decisions.

Aubz what exactly needs rescuing? Scarab merely needs a bit more administrative control, nothing else is wrong with the site unless I'm missing something......

There are a number of final touches/improvements required, I will be happy to edit and improve if I have editing ability.

I think the point everyone wants to make and bring across is that the site works fine when it comes to technical stuff. It's the rules and enforcement thereof on the site that needs attention.

This needs more daily attention than the technical issues would.

That is true, but the ENTIRE site is nothing to be proud of. It is functional, but has not been finished off properly and is not maintained at the moment.
