I always wondered how strong the silicone will be? holding hinges and a locks on glass and with a continues open and closeing of the lid and washing the tank every now and then.
Will you let us know how it works out ?

Also another thing that would bug me with haven a glass lid that opens is what happens if you drop the lid by accident or the latch pops open?

Is it safety glass or normal 3m glass?

Thanks. I was thinking about the lid slamming against something hard and breaking. Will probably shatter. It is normal glass, but I have gone for 4mm glass. I cracked one piece while making it, but it took a bit of pressure to break.
