That sounds about right.
I had locals that use to be housed in my garage and the temps in the winter would often drop to freezing point and had no losses.
These tarantula things are quite hardy if they want to be.

Agree 90% of Tarantulas will be fine at 10`.... i keep my spider room at 15`-20` for the whole winter, 4 months or so.
i just use a 400w eco panel heater. It does not keep the room tropical weather hot like most heaters... but it keeps it warm enough for the spiders to be happy I use a digital thermometer i got for R100 at the pet shop its great.. Place it about 2m from the heater and you will kinda get the average temp for the room..

I am thinking about buying a small LP gas heater for R700 and a Huge LP bottle and trying to heat the room up with that.

Any comment on a gas heater?

Just have to watch that it does not give gas off into the room, if not it can work but I think it will cost you much more than power?

Gas heater also tend to dry the air out.
