so looking at the list it seems that we all have 1 or 2 or 11 of them that we will be needing a permit for do they say how to get a permit or is it like the locals you will never get one

And what are you to do with your NOW illegal species

Acanthoscurria geniculata (Brazilian Giant Whiteknee)
Brachypelma boehmei (Mexican Fireleg)

Keep them, wait for the proposed legislation to be approved and gazetted and then go a head and apply for your permits.

They are not illegal and won't be until the bill is past, at this moment the are proposed to be "illegal" so carry on like normal.Just know in the near future you will be required to sort yourself out!

Nothing really worth stressing over or jumping on the band wagon for (we should all hope this section gets passed for the spider and scorpion side of things), I think this is what went wrong in the first place people got over worried, myself including, i even looked past my own rule, which is, there is always two sides to story get to know both sides before jumping into the middle.

I'm not saying don't fight for our rights, I'm saying learn the legislation and ask the right question and fight for the right reason.
If the law is passed they will be obliged to give us permits, they also wont make you kill or get rid of your 11 species listed without finding a solution.

"Arno Naude
WE WON THE FIRST ROUND. The message was that this draft Nature Conservation Bill was going to be passed and we were just being informed. Then they said we could make written comments and then after I stated a few facts and had the support of many other like minded people the MEC has given us two weeks to send comments after which another meeting will be held. Round One - The pet trade!!! Thank you to everyone who attended as well as everyone who signed the petition. We appreciate it. Please spread this message to all the forums that are affected. We will co-ordinate the comments and ensure that they are acknowledged and taken into consideration. Watch this space."

You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!

I has not been proposed for 2 weeks, they have basically given us 2 weeks to come back to them with comments, concerns and new ideas to what has been proposed.

So basically to form a plan of action and (attack) be nice and give it to them with a smile.
