@Linn, let this rest? Oh no dear little Oliver, hold out your plate because you can have some more. Don't try pull this "teacher" attitude on me, where you get to run your mouth and then expect me to sit back and say "Yes MIss"

How about we stop with the derogatory nicknames?

How about we don't. They have a purpose - Maverick, Fly-By-Night, shark, Sheister... didn't come from kind and generous natured samaritans. And these derogatory labelled people are exactly who to look out for in this hobby. Ask around.

It's a pity you missed the point.

I got your point just fine, but it's irrelevant and misplaced.

Then WHY are you complaining then? Your big complaint was about the newbies driving the price down, and now you state that you will be happy if the price falls. Make up your mind Danny - you can't have it both ways

Oh my word... and you tell me "I" missed a point... That was sarcasm... Google it.

Low blow Danny - not even your LOL takes the sting out of that one! We have two mentors, of which Creator is not one .... yet. I would love to sit down with him and tap his knowledge. I know that time will come in the near future.

Low blow? If you want to be offended by something I say that is 100% your doing and your choice. I am stating facts, being honest, humble, humorous and friendly at the same time. Wait, I don't hear any applause from you? Strange that is.

There is no need to ask YOU who I am, or what I am about. As my husband stated earlier today, you can Google me and find lots of information on me. Or ... if you have the guts, ask me straight out

Holy crap, once again completely missing the point and blowing your own horn. They are asking who the heck you are here on this forum... or maybe to clarify, who you think you are. This is copied and pasted: "Who is this Linn chick?? She's been on the forum since like, December, and says she only recently started collecting T's but she's carrying on like she's some hot shot " .

Do - you - get - it - now??

Let's put this to rest now Danny - you made plenty statements over the past 24 hours and you backtracked on a lot of them. I'm here to stay, I'm not going away.

What in blazes are you talking about?? I haven't back tracked on anything I've said at all?

I'm not going away

Good. I certainly didn't ask you to leave, more fun for me. Stay, learn, contribute, that's what we ALL want.
Code:
Grant me the freedom to enjoy my Ts and future breeding endevours, just like you expect yours to be granted.

It's not my grace to grant. You are free to do as you choose. At no point did I aim to stop you, you decided that on your own and have taken a whole lot of stuff personally Not my choice...yours. [EDIT - I just want to make it clear, you answered my earlier post in this thread as though I was talking to you... I was not!! ] .

Now that we have both had fair say, we can let it rest. But feel free to go again, I can do this all day. But I must say it's getting boring and has side tracked the point of this thread terribly. My fault too I guess, sorry.

TO EVERYONE ELSE - I hope you had popcorn while enjoying this little drama. Sorry, I don't often speak much and usually comment in jest, but my keyboard needed a field trip.

:)

At the end of the day the people who have T's already will still support their supplier/breeder of choice and they will advertise you, if noob want to breed they still have to proof them selfs to the tarantula community.

Hello
I would like to introduce myself ! I am Martin the Noob ! lmaoThe word isn't bad for me,since I know everyone that are professionals were once noobs.(newbies, beginners, inexperienced) I would say being experienced doesn't rate competency, since a loaded gun in an experienced persons hand could still kill someone due to immaturity or lack of competency. If you are immature you could still fail,no matter what level you are. (noob like me or pro as in others) So I fully accept being called a Noob !!!! I have lots to learn, and I am willing to learn it. Hope you all have a great day.

Hey there Martin.

I'm still a noob too in my opinion. Really. Out of over 800 species of tarantulas, how can I possibly claim to be any kind of authority. If I could call anyone that I know of an "expert" it would be Magnificent duke. That's about it. The rest of us are experienced in varying degrees, but we don't know very much in terms of scientific or biological facts.

Maybe this answer the "what is a noob" question more accurately... A noob, is someone who always feels they have something to learn, someone who always has an empty cup and willing to learn.

But in the context of this thread I must apologise to you Martin, you are not the kind of noob we are referring to, and thus I think the term Maverick is a bit more suitable. Someone who has never been in this hobby, or has only been in it for a very short time and only seeks to get into it for the sake of profit. Which again I will say is their right and prerogative, but they must not expect a warm welcome here.

Again I apologize for the earlier "banter". That's the kind of stuff that put honest to goodness "noobs" like Martin, off, from joining our otherwise awesome forum.

:)

I can honestly say i am a noob, since i see it as being true. I am willing to learn/stumble/fall,in the process admit the mistake stand up and learn from it. There is no such thing as a stupid question, just a dumb reply. So hopefully i may grow, and actively contribute positively to this forum. I took the advice i got just when i joined,I have been stalking threads and taking in any available information. It has been fun for me from the word go,and hopefully i will still say this in a years time.
