Have these people lost their morals and dignity? What has happened to trust and respect? This must be money blinding their rational thoughts.

Before we jump on the bandwagon and name and shame the pet shops, we need to go there and find out if they know what they are doing

If you inform them that they have OBT slings instead of Curlies or whatever they are selling them as, and they still don't do anything about it - then you can report them and name and shame.

Yes I agree that sometimes pet shops are wrong, but many times they are sold something under a false name by 'breeders'.

Dont think we need to name and shame just yet. The obt's were sold to the petshops as brazilian black and whites, and they obviously dont know any better. I guarantee that 1% of the users on this site would have been able to id the spider as an obt.

I agree with you 100%. Poeple are quick to judge pet shops but 99% of the time it's a greedy 'breeder' that does stupid things like this.

I can spot a babbon spider from a mile away just can't ID them yet!

My local pet store also got taken for a ride she bought a couple of OBT slings only to learn they are illagel to keep and sale.

So she took them off the shelf and told any one that keeps tarantulas that they are illagel to keep so sometimes the pet shop owner does not now any better and its the guy one the street who takes chances.

Maybe it's just the way my parents raised me, but if I owned a pet shop it would only be logical that I made sure I knew all the laws related to the types of animals I sell in my store.
