TH, do you know where is that big plant place on Hendrik Potgieter?

They usually have beautiful plants there...All types, at not bad prices.. We usually get ours from there, or at the one just on top of the hill on your way to Key West..

@ Angel - Little Falls Garden Centre? The other Plantpark? Or the one just after Hill Snacks?

Well, come to think with the water quality here in the West Rand that could be risky business too...

But one can distill your own water for these plants.

Those that do keep them - do you keep them in a hot house? Ambient temps and humidity controlled?

a very large section of SA boreholes are on dolomitic water that has got very high PH .......7.8 up to 8.2 so even if they dont have chlorine in it wil stil be detremental over time. the white buildup you see on potplant soil is salt that is left whet the hard water evaporate......so the salts in the water is bad for the plants. Carniverous plants eat insects because the grow in very low nutrient soil and peat like bogs so they catch insects to get their nitrogen and minerals from.......so in general they grow in neutral to slightly acidic bogs....with PH 5.5 to neutral 7. use your borehole but i would check the ph first. But that is only my humble opinion......
