I started about a year ago when my wife bought me my first T for my birthday and everything grew from there. I am also suffering from a arachnophobia and I thought the best way to conquer my fear was to get some big T's! I just did not expect to be hooked like this. I try to go to all the expo's and should have joined sooner to this forum. I LOVE collecting spiders and I find them fascinating. I love creating enclosures and try and make all my species as comfortable as possible. I have around 75 T's (including allot of Curly slings which my beautiful girl raised in her sack until she let them out!)
I am a lecturer at U.P and are busy with my Masters Degree. I find it very sad that we are unable to keep species like the King Baboon or OBT. I love the old world spiders and see all these guys from the U.S and U.K owning all these great species
My other favorite specie are the Gooty Sapphire Ornamental and I am currently looking for a good deal on one! They are so pricey at present! I also love the pokies and find them gorgeous with their coloration

You are most proberly the 10th person who has used Tarantulas to get over their phobia of spiders, which is awersome. :spider:
You know there will be an Expo in May 4 and 5.
If you get the chance come past the tarantulas.co.za stand and meet a couple of us.
We are allowed to keep the Pelinobius muticus (king baboon) there were some for sale at the last expo.
Just not the OBT thoughs..
