Just want to know what happens if your roach somehow manage to get vaseline on him and your T gets to him , is there a risk involved for the Spider

Vaseline is petroleum based... but no idea if this would harm your T? I don't think there have been many studies on what T's can and can't eat and live through.

Hopefully it will just "ease passage" for the roach if you get my meaning lol... but once again, this is where the more experienced keepers need to give their input.

Wait a minute, how the heck did a roach and vaseline get into the same sentence in the first place? LOl!

Way too abstract, how did this happen?? Dont think vas would be good for a T's mouthparts, however a small amount shouldn't have any major effect, whilst I say that T's absorb their food so could be wrong not too keen on vaselining any feeders to find out! Please explain how this came about?

If you line the inside of containers with vaseline (the top 5cm or so) roaches won't be able to escape. This is a technique used when you don't have a lids for the containers you breed/keep roaches in.

I guess this is how the question came about...

My friend tried it for his B. vagans (10cm ls). It worked for a while but the t managed to escape eventually and was found a month later. So it's not a 100% fool proof.

Well I dont think any thing will happen to your Ts as the roach wont go roll in it ..its ment to make the roach fall if he does try escape .!
But then it also comes down to the onwer to make the right choice and not to feed that roach to the Ts if you see it happen and if the roach went and rolled in the vasilene :laugh: ..

secondly.. I dont use vasilene for my roaches as long as you have got a really good sealing lid you wont have escapies ,,touch wood :laugh:
