As Quintrix said, that is a bold statement that you made, Also a very generalized statement.

I don't know who these so called "veterans" are in the hobby, the only person who I would call a veteran, would be Stan Schultz. We know Stan is not located in SA though.

There is allot of people who keep tarantulas, and some might not be up to your standard, but it can't be generalized to the so called "veterans" to be at fault, it is a whole lot of "titled" members, from newbie to pro who keep their tarantulas in conditions you might not find fit or which is poor husbandry. And yet we still have no Idea who is the noob and the pro, so we can't generalize that fact.

So, where does one draw the line and who's standard does one follow, and again no matter how low or highly ranked you are, it has nothing to do with keeping of spiders correctly, it all comes down to time, effort and how your mother brought you up. :dad

Someone who has been in the hobby for 6 months or some who has been in the hobby for 10 years, still has it in them to keep their spider in poor condition regardless of states or rank.
It is a fact, it is human nature and it happens.

I fully agree. My statement was not meant to shoot from the hip at only veterans. If you will go back and read the post I commented on, you will see that the paragraph I quoted, spoke about veterans.

Exactly. That is why being a veteran does not automatically mean that you never slip up, and being a newbie does not automatically mean that you will slip up.

I have already experienced the cold shoulder given to me by some of the T breeders. That's fine with me. I do hope though, that when I prove myself to the fraternity, that they will have the guts to acknowledge that they were wrong. And on the other hand, I have been blessed by being taken in and guided by some of the respected and well-known T breeders on this forum. Thank you guys!

Linn if you could, please send me an email (thunderboltje@hotmail.com) or PM with the breeders names who gave the cold shoulder, with the response they gave you and your questions to them?!
I'm just curious to know the whole story. 2 sides to a story, always!
As far as people are concerned, if they don't want to help you then that is their right to do so, companies don't give advise without charging and if you are asking "breeder" for advise on breeding spiders they themselves are trying to breed, that goes against there best interests.

And again, allot of people have worked for the information they have gained, now just to give it away to some one cause the person demands to be helped.
Have to do 90 percent of the work/research and apply that knowledge, then you can ask for advise. Action speaks louder than words!!

On a serious note, there is no such thing as a fraternity, a brother hood of tarantula breeders, a secret society, Puppet master or Tarantula lord controlling he's interests.
It is individualise who breed spiders, some do it for money other do it for the fun of it, other do it cause they can and want to try it but there is no group linked to breeder.
People charge and do what they want, have been doing this for years.

And then

For what reason do you have the need, even the urge to prove to the breeders, that they are wrong about you??
There is no need to go prove yourself to any one Linn, at the end of the day your actions speak louder than words!!
If you actions are good and you have pure intentions why worry about proving yourself.

Carry on with what you doing, just offer some advise and knowledge you gain, with the projects you are attempting.
