Have any of you experienced that a T would eat very shortly before a molt, let's say up to 4 days before a molt?

It has happened twice that I know of with my T's.
- The first time it was with my 3cm (DLS) P. Regalis sling, which had a meal 5 days before it molted.
- The most recent was with my 4cm (DLS) N. Chromatus sling, which had a meal 4 days before re-emerging from her burrow and only then I realised that she had molted.

I know this time will extend as the T's grow, but just thought to ask if it happens often.

Hi Six, yes this is not uncommon for most of the Nhandu's as well as A.geniculata, but more so when they're at the 3-4 cm stage. I love that about these T's.

Funny you should ask that.
My one P.ornata fed on Sunday, and when I got home yesterday it had molted. About 6cm dls.

It's very good to find out that it's not that uncommon.

Hopefully I'll experience it a few more times. Still working on my patience with these little guys. lol

It's very exciting when this happens. You still think that your T has to go into pre-molt for weeks on end and the next thing you know, it has molted. :rock

She did it again... :spider:

Two weeks ago my N. Chromatus refused food and my immediate thought was an imminent molt.

During feeding time over the past weekend I decided to offer food again. She then tackled the feeder like Schalk Burger would tackle an Aussie. My thoughts... No molt in the near future, right?

Wednesday afternoon came around and what did I find? My N. Chromatus on her back.

Loving T's more and more.

That is very interesting, seems you have spiders that are not playing around .

I have also experienced it and understand the feeling of WHAT!!
