I would say people should stop breeding some of the Brachypelma sp, Lasiodora sp and some of the Poecilotheria sp. There is others also that need to be left alone for a while.

I agree with Huzi... cant we penetrate the asian market with what is available.

Has anyone ever seen or heard of Coremiocnemis hoggi... what an absolute beautiful tarantula...

Can someone please send up some smoke signals so that some spideys decide to go on a road trip and do some sight seeing in our beloved country.

Oh ja... I would also say... the spideys one tend to see feuturing in most for sale adds is the ones that people should just stop breeding a bit.

What is still also sad is that there is still people that just want to make a quick buck. Guess they will always be there.

Oooh oooh oooh... have I mentioned this tarantula I saw that I would really love? Coremiocnemis hoggi? Hehehehe

Look at H.formosus - starts off with a bang R300ea and in less than 3 months it drops to R50ea!

P.formosa went the same route as well...

The formosus started out at at 1k up ! (Feel sorry for those who paid 1k for slings , few years back ,

I paid 250-350 for my formosa slings few years back , now they are 50 ,

B.auratum are also somewhat scarce at the moment especialy slings ,

H.mac and s.calc also sell well , since people are selling h.mac as communals now

If it's a breeder (a big breeder, with a website, and space for 10,000 slings) or even a petshop, then I can perfectly understand why they would breed and sell the regular ones (People come and go in this hobby and newbies need to start somewhere!) But have you seen the gumtree ads lately? It looks like some of them have been copied and pasted with regards to what is for sale! They breed them, don't have space for them and then sell them at ridiculous prices.

I know we've had this argument 100 times over, but it still makes me do this:
