When I just got into the hobby I bought all my T's from him. This was about a year and a half ago. The service was always great and he is a really nice guy. He's prices were a bit steep though!! But I bought a beautiful G. pulchra and a lot of other Ts from him and all were healthy.

No disrespect intended Carien but how did you buy a Avic avic sling thinking it was a A.versi??? They differ night and day even @ 2nd instar?

Hehe, Zane, I didn't. What happened was....
He advertised Avic versicolor, Antilles pink toe. So I smsed and phoned to make sure that it is infact versicolor, which he assured me of both times. We then went there to buy the versicolor, he gave me a tub and said: "Here is your antilles pink toe". I looked at the spider and looked at Armand and the told Robbie.. "No this is not antilles pink toe, he should be blue. So this a normal avic avic." He looked at us a bit confused and then blurted that his son probably put the ad up wrong. But he looked at the t and still gave it to me telling me its antilles, although he didnt even have any antilles in stock at the time. Had i not known what a versicolor sling looked like, he would have sold that one to me as a versicolor for R690. Thats very dishonest!! And recently a few people bought g.pulchra from him and the slings they got isnt even a grammostola specie!! I heard someone did confront him and he said he will keep selling them as pulchra. So personally I will never ever ever buy anything from him again. Ive also heard from 2 different sources that he sold a mature male curly to a little boy for a R1000 after the buy saved up all his money to buy a tarantula. Just saying..

Haha that makes more sense sorry Carien! Two things I remember that bothered me about dealing with him was that 1.He only uses Common Names and 2. he definitely has other people doing his marketing because there is always confusion about what he has advertised and at what prices.

I am in no way defending him, especially if those stories turn out true, I am merely sharing my dealings with him. And this was also a long time ago- I have since learnt that you can get T's WAY cheaper!!

Just to add on what Carien2606 has said, There was one member on the forum who was sold the wrong spider.

And I know of 2 other people who bought from the same guy and ended up with the wrong species and paying allot of money for there stock.

I even sent the guy email inviting him to join the forum so we can help him in the right direction, to name he's spider correctly and identify for him, all I got was a blank reply from the guy. :eyepoke: stir
