Hey all I'm emigrating to New Zealand in about for months time , what I would like to know is it legal too keep Ts that side? because as far as I can tell it seems that you are not allowed, and that is going to be a tragedy for me.

AS far as I know you are not allowed to keep exotic reptiles or invertebrates in Australia, if it has not been imported in to Australia legally and been breed there you my not keep them, but there are laws and legislation you need to check and make sure what you can and can't keep.
It seems you can keep local snakes and spiders.

Never mind rohan30, I have changed your emigrating location to Australia , as I have done all the research for that location, such a noob mistake there, went from my phone onto the computer, who the hell knows where I got Australia from! :igiveup: :eyepoke: whistle2 topicsucks .

As far as I can read you not allowed to keep tarantulas in NZ.!!
But I give up now, someone else can try understand there site and the information given on there.
You can keep Axolotl's though.

No you are definitely not allowed to keep tarantulas in New Zealand. Adam that owns arachnophiles.co.uk moved over there a few years ago and had to get rid of his entire collection.
If it was Australia you were going to then you can keep the local species as far as i'm aware.

Thanks for the replys it seems I will have to make a plan to work for one of those zoos.and may be later on they will change the law, seeing as tarantulas can't survive because its too cold.
