Is a great tip Panama!

Couple of months ago I got hold of an old SLR with lenses. Deconstructed the SLR for a pinhole project, and broke open one of the lenses to get the guts out.







The field of view is too narrow for photography really, but it is a lot easier to manage up close to what you want to shoot than having the whole lens.

I got a little trick I use when it comes to feeding my T's and I only feed them crickets, and I think this might be useful to beginners who also use crickets, more so us females who don't like touching crickets as I sure as hell don't :blush: ,but what I do is put them in the freezer for about 15 to 20 minutes or until all of them are flopped upside down, then the fun part is taking my sweet time picking out the ones I want to feed my T's, as it takes them quite a while to warm up again :eyepoke: , before I learned this little trick it took me about 20 minutes or more just to catch one of the buggers with a tweezer, so my days of sitting for two hours to feed my T's, only takes me 20 minutes now. :angel:

Some tools I can't do without.
Cardboard roll.
Dowel stick.
Coral tool.
Long tweesers.
Bucket of dry silica sand.

Silica sand is great for drying and cleaning tweesers whilst feeding or working with T's it also removes webbing on the tweesers in a flash.

The cardboard roll is great for moving T's From place to place. The dowel can be used to move escapees when high on the wall and for moving the T out the cardboard roll.

The coral tool is made from the covering on a bikes gear or break system it is bent and the ends can be covered with insulation tape so as not to harm the T.
What's great about this tool is it can move T's out from those hard to get at places in the tank and into the cardboard roll... Chop chop.

Feeding T's can be a problem.... Long tweesers carrot; pumpkin; butternut orange or apple and plastic cup will help.
Place the bait in the bug box... Once the roaches or crickets are on the bait pick it up and shake them off into the plastic cup.

Now you can catch one at a time from the cup for feeding or pour the lot into the T tank.

Boric acid and syrup or diluted sugar water will keep the sugar ants at bay. Blob on the shelf works wonders keep out of reach of kids and other pets. Mix 30% boric acid to 60% syrup. Boric acid is a slow killer that kill the ant queen once her minion have brought her the poison.

For my roach box I use pet plant mesh for the plant shop. It's self cleaning as when the roaches crap on it their movement cleans it. It does not mould and is easy to clean the box every six months or so.
I place the food in the corner in a cut off water bottle that I sanded for bug traction. There are slots lower down too so that they can get in from the bottom too about 4cm from the bottom.
