I thought i would create a topic for any handy info that members might have that could assist other with things like rehousing, sexing, breeding etc.

I have a neat little trick to get a nice microscopic view of molts to aid in sexing tarantulas:

Basically, all you need is an SLR camera lense (i think 55mm works best but most lenses will do the trick):



Whena lense is "looked through" in the opposite direction it effectively acts as a microscope of sorts:






You could also hold a cell phone over the lens and capture the image quite easily.

I hope this can come in handy!

Forgot to add that you can pick up an old SLR (not necessarily DSLR) lens from just about any market for under R50.
