Hi Everybody

First time in five years of keeping inverts that I am having this problem, wonder if the more experienced chaps can shed some light. I have two L. Klugi slings both at 4th instar from the same egg sack (had them since 2nd). However the one is now twice the size of the other. I dont know if the other one thinks its Paris Hilton, but it never eats and the abdomen is still small. Seems scared of the pinheads it comes across, and yes I have tride killing the crickets too, its still not interested. Should I try banana? The other one is more the kind of spider im used to, doesnt waste too much time when food is near, like I said its abdomen is full and it is probably 1.7x the legspan of its sibling.

Any thoughts out there?

No need to worry. it normal that tarantulas have different growth rates, feeding responses and aggression.

I Have plenty siblings spiders and one spider always seems to molt first eat more and grow faster. no 2 spiders are they same in the behaver.

But I had 2 L. parayhbana females, sister from the same egg sack, 4 years old +/-
Sister 1 was larger than sister 2.
Sister 1 was 2 molts ahead of sister 2
When I sold sister 2 she was a molt away from being as big as sister 1.
And they got given the same amount of food, kept in the same room, just sister 1 was put into a glass tank at 6cm and sister stayed in a plastic container.

So just keep your normal routen with them, they will keep growing regardless.

Is the abdomen shrinking?
Or is the spider not eating, so in turn the spider abdomen is not growing?

How long have you left the pre-killed prey item in the spiders container?
How big are the spider in question? leg span.

Well, the abdomen is staying as it is.. not actually shrinking. And as for the food, the crickets started showing mold if left too long
