The most expensive I've seen is R2550 for P. metallica sling sold at the auction last year. LOL!

Other than that, I agree with Cerat. I. mira seems to be the most expensive.

I've heard from a couple of breeders that somehow have aquired P. sazimai breeding pairs that they most likely will sell them for R3500 to R7000, depending on how long their breeding takes and how many young they produce.

It used to be that we got all excited about brown or black tarantulas. Then, they soon became just another large, plain, brown, hairy spider.

Then, we just LOVED iridescent reds juxtaposed with iridescent greens, a la Avicularia versicolor (Antilles or Martinique pinktoe) and Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens (greenbottle blue tarantula). But soon they became just more large, rainbow hued, hairy spiders.

Now, all of a sudden, we get all lathered up and hyperventilated over a blue tarantula. How many are there of them now? Six species? Eight species? Very soon they too will become just another large, plain, blue, hairy spider.

Not only would I not want to pay that amount of money for one, but I would almost be embarrassed to ask someone to pay that much! After all, they breed in multiples of a hundred, and the prices are surely going to drop accordingly, as per Ceratogyrus .

To be honest, the main reason I want to have a pair of such expensive t's is that I want to breed them, price them like half the price others demand. That way I can "make" some money on my little hobby and also be a source for sought after t's and people wont have to pay an arm and a leg for a beautiful spider :happy:
