As long as you have a moist end in the enclosure then you can just leave it for a couple of days without worry and when you check next you may have a nice fresh new spider in there!

Shakou, that is a very nice size, and for 13 years that is one long time to keep a tarantulas for.


@ Hendrik, ten to one it is going to molt, usually close up its burrow to molt. give it a couple of days.

When I first got my Lasiodora Parahybana sling it also wouldn't eat, its been a month and still refuses to eat. Its abdomen has gone darker so I know now its in pre-molt.

Now that you mentioned it,last night when I checked up on iT I also noted a big dark spot on it's abdomen looking as if it is under the skin.thanks for the advice so far guys.

I am like a child on christmas morning. It molted last night!! found the old skin lying in front of it's burrow.will now just keep temp and humidity stable and try a small cricket next week tuesday. Thanks for advice and help guys.
