That species was firstly described by C.E. Valerio (1980):
Arañas terafosidas de Costa Rica (Araneae, Theraphosidae). I. Sericopelma y Brachypelma. Brenesia 18, 259-288.
It was found in the humid forests of the lowlands up to mountain forests in altitudes up to 700 m.
Temperatures during the day there are 26° -28°C, and at night about 23°C. The spiders are living in short tubes of about 30cm into the soil, which regulate the temperature. In the terrarium daily temperatures of 25°C is sufficient.
They share their habitate with Megaphobema peterklaasi, and other species of the S. genus.
The sexual dimorphism of that species is extremely pronounced, i.e. a
completely different colouring of the adult male compared to the female.

No, that's not the sci name. Here the translated title:
Theraphosida spiders of Costa Rica (Araneae, Theraphosidae). I. Sericopelma and Brachypelma.
I also didn't found a synonym under which it was described in the Brachypelma genus.
