Yeah it's a personal choice really... It pays to know your T's ... e.g. when the are not agitated and ok to be handled. Luckily I have not been tagged and I plan not to be. Knock on wood. One thing that irritates me is the damn hair... it itches!

I know this is going to sound strange, but I would like to know what the hair feels like.
I am normally very allergic to skin irritations.

From what I understand, I can expect a similar reaction to grass with red hives popping up and itching like crazy, just lasting longer.

I get these whenever I get in contact with grass.

Will handle my Chaco and Curlies when they are bigger to experience this :D

I just want to add that I always have anti-histamine and celestamine on hand.

I have a very thick skin so the hairs don't bother me as much as they would someone such as yourself who is more sensitive to these things.

From my perspective I get a burning/itching sensation from the uriticating hairs of my G. pulchripes, and mine kicks them all the time!

But a little warm water and soap usually gets rid of these sensations.

I am interested to know what effects T. blondi hairs will have on me, those are said to be the worst in the T family.

Its like those gag itching powder things you buy... just its T hairs :D in the olden days they used to use Urticating hairs as such :)

You get different levels of which the T blondi has some of the worst... that can sting I hear.

Don't let it get into your eyes!

EDIT: A suggestion. Get tarantula keepers guide. The book can be ordered from kalahari.net or at a exclusive books. Really worth it.

I remember reading in the Tarantula Keeper's guide about them using T hairs for itching powder.
Wonder if it is still possible in getting some of those old ones.

But I know at some point, I will experience it from my Ts :P

Old ones? nah don't think you have anything to really worry about. When it kicks move away till the cloud has dissipated.
