Cool spiders, SpoQ! My striata is about the same size, a girl :P

I'll keep you in mind if I have a boy :) One of my more feisty poki's.. Ran out the window while rehousing... thought the window was closed it wasn't :P now that was a fun chase :D

LMAO! I'll bet that was fun to see! Nothing like a keeper running around trying to catch an escaped T. I can image how much more fun it must have been OUTSIDE the house.

My worst escapee moment was when my H. mac juvie decided to lunge at me from inside it's enclosure during a cleaning. How I did not get tagged I will never know, it landed right on my arm when it jumped. I still have nightmares about how it could have been if those fangs had sunk in and envenomated me! :S

But it was at least an hour or two before I had recaptured the T and re-housed it safely, chasing it this way and that with a tupperware and a piece of cardbord.

Lol yes it was but I started to panic once it was on the wall on it's way to the roof... ROFL splinta ... yeah tupperware and anything cardboad is your friend in this hobby ...and maybe a mild horse tranquilizer.

I had my cobalt run up my forceps and up my arm while I was removing dead crics from it's enclosure ... needless to say I was wearing khaki pants after the encounter.

Definitely spoQ! I think the horse tranqs should be standard issue with the purchase of any old world arboreals and baboons

I know the khaki pants situation all too well! But as they say, the only way to earn experience is to gain it.

Yeah it's the best way to gain any experience.
Also the best way not to get bitten at the end of the day is to respect the damn spider ... because he can and will make you say uncle.

No arguments there :)

So far only my reptiles have tagged me and that was through my own stupidity. I am VERY respectful of my T's. There are crazy people that handle H. mac's and the like, I say "good luck to you!"

I will not handle my T's apart from Grammastolas and even my G. pulchripes seems to object, she (I assume from ventral sexing, waiting on the next molt to confirm) kicks hairs like mad!

But unless my H. macs need to be physically examined, they can stay exactly where they are most comfortable thank you very much
