The Bonzai culture started in China around 6000 years ago, if I recall correctly. Herdsmen in the Chinese highlands found that trees would "miniaturize" due to constant grazing by hungry Chinese livestock or something, then took a few home for the Mrs to admire, hoping to impress and get lucky, which they did if looking at the current population.

It is a myth (or misconception) that they must be starved to become Bonzai. They need a LOT of nutrients.
It is a myth (or misconception) that they become Bozai because of the small container. Their roots are vital, but must be trimmed back often.
It is a myth (or misconception) that they must be indoors. They are Bonzai replicas of their Big Brothers and Sistas.

They are TRAINED into the marvelous shapes we see today.

OH, I forgot - they do NOT belong in a Tarantula enclosure.

Maybe Bonzai can add some here... ;)

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

dude> I im big time into my bonsai. i have plenty off them> been doing them for about 9 years already. real bonsai are not ideal for spiders. the trees need more lighting and you cant give them that with the spider in the container. rather buy plastic bonsai ornaments and put them in but dont do that to your trees dude. THEY WILL SUFFER!!

So,...are you going to tell us the truth or are you just going to let your rev counter run in the red?
