@Snarf: What do you mean by dry substrate? Do you only keep water bowls and not mist at all?

Jip Wynster, that's exactly what I mean. I do mist the younger arboreals once in about two weeks and I have water bowls in my arboreal tanks for humidity.

Thanks. I have tried the water bowl, but my T's seem to think they look better with peat in them. I mist quite often, but havent had mites yet (touch wood). I also use a syringe to inject water into the peat, so the top side is a bit more dry than in the middle and bottom. I do try to keep my enclosures well ventilated as well.

You need to read Mighty Mites .

Definitely. See the webpage recommended above.

are they dangerouse? :(

Some are, some aren't, some are actually beneficial. The problem is that very VERY VERY few arachnid enthusiasts know the difference. So, we treat all mites as dangerous and act accordingly.

Best of luck.

I came across this website. These guys are using ladybugs to eat the mites on their daga plants. Lady Bugs
I have found similar posts on other plant websites.

Would the T's eat the lady bugs or would the lady bugs attack the T in numbers?

Would woodlice eat mites?

wood lice would eat the mites as I understand it, Ts also like to eat wood lice as well so the chances of them eating lady bugs is also very likely

That's good to know. Woodlice can't climb glass and they won't eat a molting T. I'm going to try Woodlice then. I have had 2 in a jumping spiders jar for 2 months now and it's the only jar without mites.
