Hey Cas its been 2 weeks now since the molt and there is no indication of the color darkening at all.

I've had a B.vagans with the same coloration and it turned out male , so my guess that is the male coloration ,the females are more jet black .

@Huzi I would have to disagree there I have a MM vagans and its carapace is black so not sure it is as simple as that. But it is interesting that its not as unusual as I thought if you had one as well

i have a 10cm and have the same thing as cascade also when it was smaller turned black after a week or 2

ONYX.. you might just have to wait a week or 2 more if not its pretty cool

They will go darker, just takes time. Not sure why it happens, I got 8 of B. vagans , and only two have had the gold on carapace.

But you will see as the spider grow they will go back to normal.
