Just want to pick someones brain:
1. Do the pinheads pose a threat to the T (even if I put a slice of carrot in - trying to extract them without destroying the T's environment)
2. Is there any way of avoiding this (except from only feeding T male crickets)
3. Is there a better way of getting the lil buggers out

I have searched the forum (& stand 2 b corrected) have not found info on pinheads in a T's enclosure.
Please direct me to such threads if possible instead of repeating yourselves.

Okay first of all what size is the T in question? And then, how did the pinheads end up in there? Were they meant to be prey or did they breed out in the enclosure? I am asking as this did happen to a mate of mine.....

If I understand correctly then the pinheads did hatch in the T's enclosure. Then I have to say well done mate! Breeding crickets ain't all that easy. The pinheads can't pose any mechanical threat to the T, but crickets are not very hygienic creatures. And if they die, they will most likely cause mould and all other kinds of nasties.

My personal opinion would be to remove the T, get all of the substrate out and place it in a different container so the crickets can finish hatching in there and be feeders later or. You can then put new substrate in the enclosure and return the T to it's humble abode. That would be the safest route.

Place a water dish on the substrate and fill it, you will notice that the pinheads try drink but fall in and drown :dry: Best way I know if you dont want to redo the tank and it works well

give them a few sprays of water they will drown.

Lol really now? just remove the T :blink: Why on earth would you wait for the pinheads to drown???

Remove the T and you can salvage the pins if you so wish. Clean the enclosure add new substrate and add the T.

Dont complicate your or the T's life. :side:
