Oh, definitely a male. so might be why he grows so fast.
2 of my 3 Brachypelma albopilosums also grew very fast. They both seem to be male:
24 May - 3.5cm
26 June - 4.5cm
19 July - 5.5cm
18 Aug - 7cm

yip also fast but from 8 to 12 cm ive you are lucky once a year

I've got two little smithi males (now at about 4 cm) which grow very slowly. One moult way before winter cool-down, then another in spring.

My Grammostola pulchra female grew pretty fast - from sling up to 8 cm within one and a half years. My other G. pulchra sling (2 cm, looks female, too) is a very slow grower with just one moult since March.

I suppose there are individual differences within one species, but also temps and feeding patterns will play a significant role.

I posted pics from its last shed and many members said that it was male. I am waiting for the exuvium to dry and I will post pics again. I didn't see a flap on the last shed ...

Not a good idea to sell but ive you want i will trade my sub adult female for him

MY smithi eats like a champ but doesent grow fast. am actually slowing down the feeding a bit because his/her (don't know yet) abdomen is getting huge. Dont want it to go POP!
