The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us...

How come the police cannot nab these scammers, especially the local nigerians using bank scams, but they were quick to try and trace the "Pig spotter"? Just wondering, after all, each user has an IP address and service provider?

I work for an ISP and I can say that is is not always easy to trace people with just IP information and ISP details. A lot of the time time the IP is routed through so many public proxy servers across the world that the trail becomes impossible to trace.

This is partly why the internet is rife with scams, fraud and identity theft and why so many people get away with it scott free. Only inexperienced "chancers" get caught and in those cases, are prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Also, advertising is not a crime. Even if the advertising may be false, this cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt until you fork over your hard earned money and get nothing in return. Only then do you have a case of fraud against the perpetrators, if they can be traced and prosecuted.
