Man this sucks.

Noticed a bit of mold in one of the C elegans pill vials. Pinched it out with the small forceps and noticed it was attached to something. Inspected it under magnification and noticed a tiny exuviae.

Searched through the substrate three times one granule at a time and couldn't find the <0.5cm spider. Searched again and still couldn't find it.

I have never noticed mold growing on molts, and escape is highly improbable, so I am assuming the spider died during a molt.

The other similar sized Cyrocosmus sp I have under exactly the same conditions are doing well so I don't know how I could have prevented this.

Rip little buddy.

Dammit.

I'm not impossible. I'm being improbable.

Marius,

Your Cyriocosmus elegans (Trinidad dwarf tiger rump) is there and not lost. Trust me, like 5 people at expo that bought from us said there was nothing there but after checking it was.

Go swift through the substrate slowly and you will see it :)

Thanks Dimitri but I did search quite thoroughly and methodically. First with a magnifying glass then with a pocket microscope. Literally one granule of substrate at a time.

I'm not impossible. I'm being improbable.
