Ants used to get into my Chameleons home as they constantly had crickets roaming around their enclosure and ants used to dine on them all the time. I placed those green ant-traps (1 at each corner), and the ant problem disappeared.

So, try that and other safe options before you try 'Blue death' etc.

This is the best solution for ants anybody has given me - You buy powdered cinnamon at your local store, sprinkle it liberally around any areas the ants look like they may be entering through. You can sprinkle as much as you like as it does not affect the spiders in any way. Ants hate it because it puts their pheromone sensors into overdrive and they can't follow each others scent. The spiders pheromones seem to be strong enough that the cinnamon doesn't affect them at all. Try it. It worked for me
