Its a non-toxic cactus type plant. in afrikaans it is a "vetplant". it also has no thorns and does not require direct sunlight. my T absolutely loves it as it spends most of its time just sitting on this plant. i will try and id it for you.

ok, last week i got 3 new slings for CrypticZ

Two Stromatopelma calceatum



and one Phormictopus cancerides





slings are looking good and eating well. Although i must ad that the Stromatopelma calceatum is already showing some of its legendary speed. Rehousing is going to be very interesting.

The Phormictopus cancerides has a very blue color to it, but i have heard that this is common as slings.

cant wait for them to grow up.

The "vet plant" that Klippie is using is called an Echeveria (genus). There are a number of species in the genus. They originate from the semi-desert regions of central America. They are drought resistant, but will tolerate regular watering and shade/low light conditions. They are also easy to grow. The neat thing is they have no spines or thorns so won't cause any injury to a T It falls on to the plant. You can get them at most nurseries in the succulent section.

I do think that the Lasi's are a complete disaster in terms of hybrids. So it is possibly a Lasiodora based on the "look" of the spider. But I doubt anyone can confirm species.

So if I understand you correctly, You think that this spider might be some kind of mix of different Lasiodora genus, Thats cool rock makes him a little more unique. think i should start a thread for him in the ID my spider section.

Yup!

I think the only pure Lasi I've ever seen was Taki's parahybana. I'm fairly sure the genus is completely screwed in SA.
