i dont know much about Scorpions but i can bet those can sting the living daylights out of you if you dont pay attention lol! Whats the rule of thumb....thick pincers, thin tail = not dangerous... small pincers, thick tail = be wary if i remember correctly! nice scorps!

If all is not lost, where is it?

Hi,

nice scorps you have their. Where did you find the scorp in pic 7 - I haven't seen that one before.

It looks like you have:
P. raudus
P. granulatus
P. transvaalicus
U. carinatus
P. mossambicensis ? depending where you found it, otherwise P. raudus

if you ever want to get rid of any - call me :)

I also got that one in the Kalahari, at McCarthy's Rest. I thought of asking you what is was, once it got bigger.

Hi Romio, I have three of them 1xMale, 1xFemale(I think gravid), and then 1 that I am not sure of as yet...

Truly beautiful scorpions! Do you have breeding groups of all these species?

If you need it, I can help you with the ID of the Parabuthus species. To be able to ID them correctly, I would need detailed photos of the following:
Metasomal segment II, ventral and dorsal aspects
Metasomal segments IV and V, ventral and lateral aspects

Some Parabuthus species are so distinct that such a way of ID'ing may be unnecessary, but it is actually the only way to be 100% sure of an ID.
Those who only go by overall looks when ID'ing a scorpion is bound to have a lot of
misidentified species in their collection:)
