No they are not juvies. If the male is mature he can mate with the female as long as she is 3/4 of her full body size and length. I must say always excitement after a egg sack is laid. Are u letting mom incubate or are u artificially incubating? To me it's just a personal decision to put in mech mom as always success . U must move the male every 2 nd week between the females as they are so chilled species.
