I have a Q regarding this beautiful T.
Is it true that there are none in SA??

My second question is this:
If someone, by chance, managed to get a few dozen onto a plane with him/her and into SA succesfully and sold them to forum members, would it be frowned upon that they were brought in illegaly or would they just be amped to get thier hands on them and forget about the politics?

I have seen some for sale earlier in the year.
Some comments I can make:
1. They were very expensive
2. They were most probably imported from Northen Hemisphere
3. They could easily die like other avics that weren't bred in our climate (I obviously don't have proof of this)
4. They are stunning and I would love to have some, but I won't pay a rediculous price for them. Reason being: if they are brought in in limited numbers future, breeding opportunities are limited (Males maturing without females being available, specimens dying or disappearing into non-forum / breeding circles) so will just sit with a show piece that will eventually die alone.

I reckon we should rather spend the time and money on the species that we already have available that are difficult to breed before bringing in a new "expensive because they're rare" species.

Bottom line for me: If I can find one at a good price, I will probably buy it. Will I import it myself? Nope.

Well, that's my opinion on the matter at least.
