Hi guys . Nature conservation will not and cannot totally ban all exotics as this effect too many people and businesses who rely on an income. All what is going to happen is that everyone will have to " declare" and apply for a transport - import/export permit depending on province and apply for holding permits and it's on record and that's gonna take some Time. Due to illegal smuggling etc that is what has got nature conservations attention as "numbers" are on the rise and it's been building for some time and I know this as I have friends still as "peace officers" law enforcers. In North west I had to "declare" all my tarantulas as they are not allowed in the North West Province, but all mine are on permit.
Please don't panic as nature con will lose this battle I promise you this all it is ,is they want to know what all is in the country!!! They are sick of catching red eared terrapins in our dams, rivers, crocodiles at harties etc because some people dnt care and release. Without thinking all these issues have been raised now. Keep ur T's and dnt stress it too much. That's my 2 cents on the topic
